Researching this serviceman has been one of the biggest challenges of the project so far; there are no records of anyone of this name being killed on the date as listed on the war memorial. It has been established that the dates are not always accurate but despite an extensive search and some possibilities of the correct Duncan Scott, no confirmation has been made.

A search of the 1911 Inverkip census shows a Duncan Scott working as a ploughman on Langhill Farm, Inverkip. He was born in Glassary, Argyll. There is a possibility this is the right Duncan Scott but this cannot be confirmed.

Whoever he is, may he rest in peace and the search to establish his details will continue.
